Reg D’Souza, practice principal, trained to qualify as a Chartered Physiotherapist in the Royal Navy, serving from 1976-1989, performing medical assistant duties at sea and on Search and Rescue helicopters.
Towards the end of his navy days, Reg became inspired by the healing effects of acupuncture and completed his two year training with the British College of Acupuncture who train only health professionals and is therefore an Advanced Member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
In 1993 Reg completed research into the benefits of acupuncture and Physiotherapy for severe lower back pain resulting in the award of a degree from the University of Exeter.
Over the last 25 years Reg has taught other Physiotherapists and health professionals across the country, whilst continuing to develop his successful private practice.
In addition to his private practice Reg has worked as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Acupuncturist) in the NHS Pain Relief Clinic at RCHT Treliske, Truro, for over 25 years. Therefore gaining considerable experience in the treatment of a variety of complex painful conditions. He has also been involved in the Triage and assessment of chronic low back pain.
